BANGKOK, Thailand, May. 11 (Mehr News Agency)-- Iran's futsal team swept Kuwait in the 10th AFC Futsal Championship 2008 opener in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday.

Iran defeated Kuwait 12-0 in the opening game and is scheduled to play China in the second game.

Sixteen teams are taking part in the AFC Futsal Championship, which will be finished May 18.

Iran is in Group D with Tajikistan, China and Kuwait.

Iran is the best Asian team who has won nine championships out of 10.
