Tehran, May 19, IRNA - Iranian filmmakers would seize the opportunity which have been created in the 61st Cannes International Film Festival for marketing the Iranian films, director of Farabi Cinema Foundation's International Department said on Monday.
Amir Esfandiari said that eight institutes are conducting activities in the Iranian cinema pavilion under the title of 'Umbrella for Iranian Cinema'.
He said that they aim to prepare the ground for screening the Iranian films in different countries, marketing for Iranian cinema products, coordinating for buying the foreign products and screening in Iranian festivals are the agenda of the Umbrella for Iranian Cinema.
"Representatives and experts from Farabi Cinema Foundation's International Department, Documentary and Experimental Cinema Development Center and Supervision and Evaluation Office of professional Cinema are active in marketing the Iranian cinema products in Cannes festival," he said.
A total of 18 Iranian films will be presented at Cannes market, including "The Son of Soil', directed by Mohammad Ali Basheh-Ahangar, 'Simply' by Reza Mirkarimi, 'Each Night of Solitude' by Rasoul Sadr Ameli, 'A Testimonial for God' by Alireza Amini and 'Winds Whirls in the Leon' by Khosrow Masoumi.
Reza Karimi's 'Reflection', Mohammad Reza Aslani's 'Green Fire', Fereydoun Hassanpour's 'Address' and Abbas Rafei's 'Another Life', are also in lineup.
