TEHRAN, May 24 (Mehr News Agency)--Iran's Saipa football team will meet Kuruvchi of Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals round of the 2008 Asian Champions League.
Saipa qualified for this round as the top team of Group B. Its rival has already defeated Sepahan, Iran's other representative, in Group A in the group stage.
Saipa will play Kuruvchi in Karaj's Enghelab Stadium on September 17 in the first leg. Then the team will travel to Tashkent to face Uzbekistan's side a week later.
Defending champions Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan will play 2006 semifinalist Al-Qadisiya of Kuwait.
Japanese champion Kashima Antlers will face Adelaide United - the first Australian team to make the tournament's knockout stages - while 2006 finalist Al-Karama of Syria will meet Japan's Gamba Osaka.
The semifinals will be played in October and the final in November.
The Saipa-Kuruvchi winner is to face Kashima-Adelaide winner in the semifinals round.
