ROSETO DEGLI ABRUZZI, Italy, June 1 (Mehr News Agency)-- Iran won international basketball tournament championship in Italy on Saturday.

Iran's Basketball Team defeated hosts Italy 88-76 and clinched the championship. Iran was previously beaten twice by Italy. Croatia won over Algeria and finished third.

Iran had already defeated Croatia and Algeria in this four-team tournament.

The team will travel to Serbia on Monday to hold a preparatory camp ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Iran was drawn in Group A along with Argentina, Australia, Lithuania and Russia in Olympic.
