Press TV - Iranian heavyweight Saeed Ali-Hosseini has set new junior weightlifting world records in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total categories.
At the 6th Asian Junior Interclub Weightlifting Championships in Goyang, South Korea, the 20-year-old Ali-Hosseini snatched the gold medals of the three categories on Monday.
According to ISCANews, Ali-Hosseini lifted a 205kg barbell in the snatch category. The previous Asian record of the junior championship was held by Iran's Hercules, Hossein Rezazadeh.
The Iranian youngster also managed to lift a 241kg barbell in the clean and jerk category, improving Rezazadeh's 228kg record.
Ali-Hosseini also pulled 446kg in total, improving the world record in the junior championship of 415kg set by Ukraine's Artem Udachin.
