TEHRAN, Nov. 14 (ISNA)-Iran's Tractor Manufacturing Company and Iraq's Agricultural Ministry inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Tehran according to which Iran exports 800 tractors in different models to Iraq.
According to the MoU Iraq will also buy farming tools from Iran.
Iraqi Minister of Agriculture Ali Husayn al-Bahadili highlighted cooperation with Iran's agricultural laboratories and said "we are keen to buy date palms from the laboratories."
Al-Bahadili also expressed hope his country could select Iran as its pattern for producing agricultural goods.
He also underlined Iran's capabilities in agriculture and training labors and called for more cooperation between Iranian and Iraqi agricultural ministries.
According to the MoU Iraq is to run an assembly line for the tractors it imports from Iran, said the Head of Iran's Tractor Manufacturing Company Mohammad Reza Zamanlou and added tractors are sold to Iraq at lower cost compared to prices for other countries.
Iraq will pay 14.405 million dollars for the tractors.
