Iran's national soccer team has been held to a 1-1 draw by the UAE to lose the chance of topping Group B of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

Abdulraheem Jumma put the UAE ahead in the 20th minute, but Iran's Karim Baqeri scored the equalizer nine minutes before the end of the game.

The draw brings Iran's total qualifier-match points to 5, ending its bid to stand atop of the group regardless of the result of the match between Saudi Arabia and South Korea now underway in Riyadh.

The Iran-UAE face-off was held at Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.
