Tehran, Nov 26, IRNA - Iran women national handball team beat Uzbekistan 29-26 in the Asian Women's Handball Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday.

Iranian team include Qazale Nazem, Najmeh Moradi, Zahra Taqi-Yar, Mehri Sistani, Azam Haqani, Sanaz Moaffaq, Malek-Taj Mohammadi, Najmeh Shoushtari, Zahra Khosravi, Shieda Fallahi, Shahnaz Mir-Shamshiri, Shima Zare, Farzaneh Rahimi, Zeiba Joneidi, Marzieh Qofli, Mouna Rezaei and Mahin Vatan-Parast.

Iran is in Group A of the championships which also includes South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Asian Women's Handball Championships began on November 21 and will run until November 29.

The top four places will qualify for the 2009 World Championships in China next December.
