Mrs. Ashraf Ghandehari Bahadorzadeh |
The Hamid and Christina Moghadam Program in
Iranian Studies is
delighted to announce that
this coming Tuesday, December 2, 2008, Mrs. Ashraf Ghandehari
Bahadorzadeh, an icon of philanthropy in
Iran, will speak at
Stanford University. The
event is at
Cubberley
Auditorium and
will begin promptly at 7:00 pm and continue to 9:00 pm. Guests are welcome to
arrive beginning at 6:30 pm.
Mrs. Ghandehari Bahadorzadeh has dedicated 35 years to Kahrizak Charitable
Foundation and through the tireless efforts of herself and thousands of
volunteers, she has transformed the lives of thousands of
people with disabilities
and elderly Iranians. She uses
social entrepreneurship, which combines philanthropy and
business acumen, to not
only lift the social stigma
of disability, but to make each individual a proud, self-assured, and productive
member of the community.
Mrs. Ghandehari Bahadorzadeh is this year's recipient of
PARSA Community Foundation's
Volunteerism and Action Award. While she was unable to attend PARSA CF's
Persian Garden Gala, she has just arrived in
California to receive the
award in person. This event at Stanford University promises to be a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear this woman of singular accomplishment and
learn about her life dedicated to public service and volunteerism.
The event is open to the public and is free of charge. For more information
please contact
