Iran has reached the final of the Asian Football Confederation Under-16 Championship thanks to a decisive 3-0 win over the UAE at MHSK Stadium.
Iran, which had defeated the UAE 4-0, 6-0 and 1-0 in the two sides' last three friendly encounters, dominated Wednesday's match from start to finish.
Bahram Dabbagh scored the opener for Iran at the hour mark. Akbar Imani doubled the lead 13 minutes from time, and Kaveh Rezaei's stoppage time tap-in sealed the victory.
Earlier, the Iranian team had come victorious over Bahrain, Uzbekistan, Singapore and Syria.
Iran, coached by Ali Doustimehr, will clash with the winner of the other semifinal between South Korea and Japan on October 18, in the final.
Sixteen teams have participated in the Asian Football Confederation U-16 Championships on 4-18 October, hosted by Tashkent, the Uzbek capital.
