TEHRAN, Oct.18 (Mehr News Agency)-- The Iranian football team was crowned Under 16 AFC champions after beating South Korea 2-1 in the final on Saturday in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Mohsen Talebat found the back of the net in the 38th minute and tournament top scorer Kaveh Rezaei kicked in Iran's second goal in the 62nd minute to seal the victory against South Korea at Pakhtakor Stadium.
Kim Dae-Kwang from South Korea was sent off in the 32nd minute after receiving two yellow cards.
Lee Chang pulled a goal back for the South Koreans in the stoppage time.
Iran won all 10 games it played in the tournament and the qualifying stage, scoring 31 goals and conceding just two, with eight shutouts, AFC.com reported.
