Qeshm, Hormozgan, Sept 11, IRNA - Qeshm governor said on Thursday that seven people died and 44 were wounded by the earthquake which hit the city on Wednesday.
Four consecutive earthquakes measuring 4.9, 4.5, 4.2 and 3.7 on the Richter scale jolted the city of Bandar Khamir in the southern province of Hormuzgan early Thursday and Wednesday night.
The 4.5-degree quake happened at 05:41 hours local time (0111 GMT) Thursday.
The quake hit an area measuring 55.72 degrees in longitude and 27.13 degrees in latitude, said the base.
Moreover, the trembles with the intensity of 4.2 and 3.7 on the Richter scale
occurred at 22:50 hours local time (1820 GMT) and 22:56 hours local time (1826
GMT) on Wednesday in an area measuring 55.76 degrees in longitude and 26.99
degrees in latitude, the report said.
