Iranian weightlifter Kazem Rajabi wins gold
Beijing, Sept 16, IRNA - Iranian heavy weightlifter, Kazem Rajabi, two-time
Paralympic gold medalist, snatched the gold medal in +100kg category in the 13
edition the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing on Tuesday.
Rajabi lifted 257.5 kg to win the gold medal.
The athletes from the countries of Australia and China stood second and third
Iranian heavy weightlifter was nominated for the 2007 Laureus World Sports
Awards along with world's top six athletes, including Roger Federer and Michael
Rajabi won the gold medal in the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games as well as three
other gold medals in world championships

In the final round, Mirzaei threw an F57 world record (40.84m), for 1052 points.
Mahmoud Ramadan Elattar of Egypt threw 48.80m on his final throw, for 1035
points, to secure the silver medal.
Rostislav Pohlmann of the Czech Republic threw a 39.85m, on his fifth effort,
for 1027 points and got the bronze medal.

Iran's soccer players in 7-a-side football snatched a silver medal in the 13th
edition of the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, China on Tuesday.
Iranian soccer team beat Brazil 4-0 in the competition.
