Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA - Spokesman of Iran's state airline, Iran Air, Reza Jafarzadeh rejected on Wednesday a report on the probable halt of the airline's direct flights to Japan.
"No decision has been made so far to halt Iran Air's flights to Tokyo," said the spokesman rejecting a report that Tehran-Tokyo direct flights were on the verge of halt after 33 years.
Released on September 20, the report triggered various reactions by Iranian and Japanese tourists.
Iran Air is making two weekly direct flights to Tokyo with Boeing SP-747s since 1974. It is one the oldest routes of the airline.
Jafarzadeh told IRNA that the Iranian national airline had "only decided to reduce its reservation for Tehran-Tokyo flights as of October 26 due to the heavy flight traffic in that route."
