a seminal convergence of these ancient and influential cultures, the Festival of
the Silk Road brings together an inspired roster of dance and musical artists
including Ballet Afsaneh, the award-winning

a shimmering sonic landscape threading through the evening's performance.
Afsaneh Art & Culture Society (AACS) proudly presents Festival of the Silk Road,
a full of evening of dance, music and poetry from the Silk Road including Iran,
Afghanistan, China, Azerbaijan, India, Indonesia, and Tajikistanon Saturday, May
2nd, 2009. Celebrated in the Bay Area and beyond for presenting gorgeously
crafted, authentic and rarely-seen traditional dances from Central Asia and Iran
as well as cutting-edge, contemporary work based on traditional themes, Ballet
Afsaneh is the professional performance ensemble of the Afsaneh Art & Culture

provoking, contemporary work.
