Venezuelan President Ends Iran Visit


Tehran, April 5, IRNA - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saw off his Venezuelan counterpart President Hugo Chavez on Saturday.

President Chavez during his official 4-day visit to Iran held two rounds of negotiation with President Ahmadinejad.

The Venezuelan president also conferred with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Venezuelan high ranking politico-economic delegation discussed many aspects of bilateral and international ties and signed 9 cooperation documents.

A joint bank was set up here in Tehran on Friday by initial capital of one billion and 200 million dollars with equal shares of both countries.

Iran Export Development Bank ( IEDB) is responsible for commissioning the bank by authorization of cabinet of ministers.

President Hugo Chavez heading a high ranking politico-economic delegation arrived in Tehran last Wednesday.

Uruguay calls for boosting agro ties with Iran

MADRID, Apr. 5 (Mehr News Agency) - Uruguayan Animal Husbandry, Agriculture and Fishing Minister Ernesto Agazzi called for the expansion of agricultural ties with Iran.

According to IRNA, in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Uruguay Morteza Tafrishi, Agazzi posed signing a related agreement between the sides.

Tafrishi welcomed the promotion of ties with Uruguay and put emphasis on boosting relations in the fields of dam building, irrigation systems, agricultural machineries, and pisciculture.
