TEHRAN, April 10 (Mehr News Agency) -- FIFA has warned Iran's Football Federation over a missile-throwing incident at the Azadi Stadium during the Iran-Saudi Arabia match.
Some Iranian fans threw missiles at Saudi Arabian players after they were celebrating scoring the game winning goal against Iran.
Saudi Arabia beat Iran 2-1 on March 28 in front of 100,000 Iranian spectators in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
"In the last minutes of the match some fans threw missiles and bottles at Saudi Arabian players and the game supervisor reported that to FIFA," vice-president of Iran's Football Federation said.
"We have hosted 25 matches without any problem and I hope that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee doesn't apply any sanctions against us," Mehdi Taj added.
