TEHRAN, April 20 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran's Football Federation (IFF) strongly denied reports that Mohammad Mayelikohan resigned as the national team coach on Monday.
Some Iranian media reported newly-appointed
Mayelikohan submitted his resignation to the IFF's officials after he launched a
verbal attack on Esteghlal coach Amir Ghalenoei.
"Mayelikohan has not resigned. These reports are not true," IFF Vice President Mehdi Taj said.
Mayelikohan issued a statement on Sunday in which he accused Esteghlal coach of being an agitator.
