Payvand.com - Iran-Europe rail connection has been interrupted
due to ground movements in the vicinity of the town of Khoy in West Azarbaijan
province. About 300 meters of the railway has been destroyed. A special team has
been formed to repair the railway.

In geology, engineering, surveying, and orthopedic surgery,
subsidence is the
motion of a surface (usually, the Earth's surface) as it shifts downward
relative to a datum such as sea-level. The opposite of subsidence is uplift,
which results in an increase in elevation.
