PUNE, India, Aug. 5 (Mehr News Agency) -- Defending champion Brazil defeated Iran in the 2009 FIVB Men's Junior Volleyball World Championship in Pune, India on Wednesday.

The 2007 gold medalist beat Iran 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-18) in Pool F and secured its place in the semifinal stage. Cuba, who had defeated Iran on Tuesday, swept the U.S. 3-0 in another match in Pool F.

Brazil and Cuba will play on Friday to determine the first team of the pool. Iran will play against the U.S. in its last match of the second round.
