The association's secretary, Badralsadat Mofidi, says there is no logical reason behind the shut-down.
Press TV - The office of the
Association of Iranian Journalists has
been sealed off by judiciary officials, the secretary of the association
reports. Badralsadat Mofidi told ILNA on Thursday that judiciary officials
carrying a warrant sealed off the place Wednesday night.
She said the reason behind the 'out-of-office hours' shutdown was unclear, as the association had already settled differences with the Ministry of Labor over continuing its activities.
The office was sealed off as the members were expected to meet on Thursday to discuss changes to the articles of the association.
A few weeks ago, a scheduled meeting of the association on the recent post-election arrests was called off following contacts from security and intelligence officials, Mofidi said.
The secretary said it was unlikely that the board of the association would leave the issue unresolved, as there was 'no logical reason' behind the shut-down.
