TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian TV crew released after two weeks from Azerbaijani custody called for Iranian Foreign Ministry's serious action.
Speaking in a press conference in Tehran on Monday, one of the released members of the group Shabaan Ali Keivani said the group's presence in Azerbaijan was fully legal.
"We had a one-month residence permit in Azerbaijan, but we were arrested by police after 11 days," he said adding "they detained us for 15 days and destroyed all our research including interviews, reports and photographs."
"Police was fully aware of what we were doing there," he said adding "they claimed that our stay was illegal, but according to our visa and passport we could stay in Azerbaijan for 30 days."
Also another member of the group said "our arrest and detention was completely illegal."
The TV crew had traveled to Azerbaijan to produce a documentary, but they were arrested by Azeri police and held in detention for two weeks. they has been released recently.
The group aimed at examining Azeri officials' view points on Iran's Islamic Revolution.
