TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian renowned filmmaker Jafar
Panahi will lead the jury of the 33rd Montreal International Film Festival.
Panahi's "The White Baloon" won the Golden Camera and "Crimson Gold" was selected in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival, "Offside" received Berlin Silver Bear, ''Mirror'' took the Golden Leopard at Locarno and also "The Circle" won Golden Lion, UNICEF Award and FIPRESCI Prize at the Venice Film Festival.
The 33rd edition of Montreal International Film Festival is to display 5 Iranian products among 240 films selected for the cultural event from 78 countries.
"Fire Keeper" by Mohsen Amiryoussefi will compete with 19 other feature films in the World Competition.
"When Lemons Went Yellow" directed by Mohammad
Reza Vatandoust is another Iranian film that will participate in the First Films
World Competition among 20 selected products.
In Focus on World Cinema section, two films are to represent Iran, "Twenty" by Abdolreza Kahani and "Penalty" by Ensie Shah Hosseini.
Also the Iranian short film to be screened at the cultural event is Panah Panahi's "The First Film".
The World Film Festival is scheduled to run August 27 to September 7.
