U.N. SEATS BELONG TO NATIONS: AHMADINEJAD IS NOT WELCOME AT U.N.

Dear Iranians, D.C. residents, and friends of the Iranian
People, As members of Solidarity Committee to Protect the Iranian People's Will
(SCPIPW-DC) we thank every one of you for your support of the struggle for
democracy and freedom in Iran. Our committee has thus far organized three
activities for the D.C community:
-
On June 20th: rally from Iranian interests section to the
White House.
-
On July 18th: human chain from the U.N. information center
to the Iranian interests section
-
On July 30th: candlelight vigil in DuPont circle.
Had it not been for your assistance, our efforts to mobilize the
Iranian-American community would have been futile. Therefore, we sincerely hope
that you will continue your support by participating in the future events.
As many of you are aware Mr.
Ahmadinejad, the coup d'état president of Iran, attends the annual
meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations every year. The meeting
this year is to be held in September. In response to this visit from the U.N.,
we invite you to a protest in New York City. The U.N. meeting is to begin on
September 15th and Mr. Ahmadinejad's
arrival and speech will be on the 23rd of September.
We hope to help the community in a show of solidarity with Iranians' struggle
for democracy.
At the moment, we are considering the option of renting buses to
NYC. Please let us know of your advice or of the possibility of your presence
through the group email at
scpipwdc@gmail.com. You can reach us at the
same address if you wish to learn about the future events or to be updated on
the NYC protest.
Please encourage your friends to join our mailing list. Please
do spread the word.
Let Mr. Ahmadinejad receive the welcome he deserves by the
largest protest of the Iranian and non-Iranian communities in the United States.
Let it be known that the world will never forget those brutally murdered in
peaceful demonstrations in Iran, those tortured and those killed in prisons.
Please stay tuned for future notices.
Warm regards,
Solidarity Committee to Protect the Iranian People's Will
