The Fargo VA Medical Center, US Department of Veteran affairs, has named Dr. Sepehr Khashaei recipient of the 2009 Dr. Byron D. Danielson Physician of the Year Award which is an award given to one physician and one Med-level at the Fargo VA medical center per year.
The Fargo VA Medical Center serves veterans in North Dakota, western Minnesota, and northeast South Dakota. The Fargo VA Medical Center has approximately 40 primary care physicians in its main medical center and five community-based outpatient clinics.
Dr. Khashaei was born in Shiraz, Iran and immigrated to the US in 1986. He got a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Northridge. Due to his passion for medicine and betterment of human welfare, Dr. Khashaei continued his education in medicine and finished his internship in Internal Medicine in Fargo, ND in 2000. He then worked for Fargo VA Medical Center as ER/Hospital physician from then till recently. Dr. Khashaei is married and has recently moved to New Mexico where he works for the University of New Mexico as a faculty Hospitalist.
