Report by Press TV

After establishment of a judiciary committee tasked to query post-vote events, Iran's Judiciary head urges a probe into defeated candidate Mehdi Karroubi's letter.

On Saturday, Ayatollah Larijani formed a panel to supervise the proceeding of cases related to the country's post-election violence.

Iran's Prosecutor General Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i, deputy Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raeesi and Judiciary adviser Ali Khalafi were named on Saturday as members of the panel.

The panel will monitor all the investigations and court proceedings to ensure that the defendants' rights are reserved and that they are treated properly. The panel will report directly to the Judiciary chief.
