Iranian Reformist Behzad Nabavi Returns to Evin Prison

Nabavi visited by mother of post-election victim Sohrab Aarabi

Behzad Nabavi, one of the prominent reformist figures that had been released for ten days from prison returned to Evin prison today. His lawyer confirmed that he has been transferred to a hospital under the supervision of the Revolutionary Guards. Mr. Nabavi suffers from a heart condition and is scheduled to be operated on in the near future.

Mehdi Karroubi visits Behzad Nabavi

Behzad Nabavi, a senior member of the reformist group Mojahedin of Islamic Revolution Organization, was arrested in the government's post-election crackdown on protesters of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's allegedly fraudulent victory. He has been sentenced to six years in prison, five years for "activities against national security" and another year for "propaganda against the system."

Khatami visits Nabavi at his home

During his ten days outside, he was visited by scores of political and social activists.

Opposition leaders Mohammad Khatami, and Mehdi Karroubi, as well as Gholamhosein Karbaschi and Mohammad Ali Abtayi were amongst his visitors.
