Payvand.com - The Student Day program at
Tehran's Honar University started at around 10 AM on Monday December 7 with
students singing "my
schoolmate" song in the grounds of the university. From the beginning of the
program, the students gathered behind the main gate of the university and
chanted slogans such as "death to the dictator," "ya Hossein, Mir-Hossein,"
"political prisoner must be freed," and so on.

Soon after that, people gathered outside the
gates of the university and started chanting together with the students against
the regime. These people were attacked repeatedly by the security forces and
this resulted in strong protests by the students.
Next the protest statement was read
aloud, while the students chanted "death to the dictator" and "Allahoakbar".

Around 1 PM, the students from Amirkabir (Polytechnique)
University gathered outside the gates in Vali Asr avenue. The union of the
students formed a beautiful circle, and their chanting of slogans against
dictatorship filled the surrounding streets. With the expansion of the protests,
Revolutionary Guards and Basij militia gathered in front of the (adjoining)
gates of the two universities. Moments later, the students broke the gates
of Amirkabir and invited people to enter the university grounds. This was
followed with heavy clashes among students and Basij which lasted for about an
hour and resulted in injury to some of the students, broken hands and legs, and
even head injury to one of the security officers of Honar University.

The plainclothes agents were next to storm the
university grounds; but they were confronted by the law enforcement officers and
dispersed. Then about 100 law enforcement officers placed themselves in front of
the gates of Honar University for protection.
All along during the protests, the
students were under the watchful eyes of the security officials who were
videotaping them and taking their pictures. But the students continued their
protests regardless. They chanted against the regime, burned a poster of
Ahmadinejad (see video),
poured green paint on the ground and wrote Mir-Hossein Mousavi's name on the
entrance of the university.
