TEHRAN (ISNA)-Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) 9th ministerial meeting opened Wednesday morning in Doha, Qatar. Stabilizing natural gas prices in 2010 and appointment of the forum's Secretary General are the key discussions of the meeting.
Iran's Oil Minister Masoud Mirkazemi, envoy in GECF Mohammad Ali Khatibi and its candidate for the Secretary General post Hojatollah Ghanimifard attend the meeting.
Established in December 2008, based on a proposal offered by Tehran, the organization includes Algeria, Bolivia, Brunei, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Libya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, UAE and Venezuela. Norway and Kazakhstan are also observers.
Iran, Russia, Venezuela and Algeria hold two-thirds of world's gas reserves and supply42 percent of the global gas market.
