Washington, D.C. - In today's fast paced world,
it seems no profession or industry has been left unbitten by the social
networking bug. Enter DistrictFile, an exclusive social networking site
targeting those working in politics. Created by Oveissi in September 2008, the
site has gained notoriety in the political sphere not only for its notable
membership but also by the fact that membership is based on invitation only.
According to Oveissi, the end goal of DistrictFile is to transform itself into
something like the "U.N. of social networking."

The nonpartisan site boasts an impressive
membership which includes former Capitol Hill Chiefs of Staff, think tank
directors from over 20 nations, and individuals working with such organizations
as the United Nations, State Department, and the Cato Institute, just to name a
few. DistrictFile continues to maintain a strong link to the London School of
Economics, which Oveissi is an alumnus of, with approximately 20% of its members
having studied there in the past. Like many social networking sites,
DistrictFile allows members to post upcoming events, forums to discuss different
topics, and a social connector which allows members to locate one another when
they share a geographical proximity.
Recently, DistrictFile upped its political caliber by appointing well known
political consultants Jason Roe and Peter Mirijanian to its Board of Directors.
Roe who has nearly 20 years of experience on campaigns will serve as
DistrictFile's Chief Operating Officer while Mirijanian, who is a regular
Democratic strategist, will serve as a Senior Advisor and communications
consultant. According to Oveissi, "They have both been on the ground floor of
successful ventures and will bring valuable experience with them."
