TEHRAN,
Dec. 19 (Mehr News Agency) --
Acetaminophen Codeine is the best-selling medicine in the country, Iran's
deputy health minister for food and medicines said here on Friday.
"Acetaminophen Codeine is Iran's best-selling medicine," Ebrahim Sheibani said.
"Adult cold and Amoxicillin
-- the most common antibiotics -- are the second and third most-consumed
medicines across the country," he added.
Sheibani also said that 97 percent of the country's required medicines are
produced inside the country, and only 3 percent of drugs are imported from other
countries, while the importing rate was 75 percent before the Islamic Revolution
in 1979.
