According to the report by Jaras, Grand Ayatollah Dastgheyb referring to the officials has written: Free prisoners; and stop all these actions against the religion and the law [you commit] with the excuse of defending the establishment.
This senior religious figure has also called on the scholars and religious figures to break their silence and invite to good deeds and prevent bad deeds; and demand the government to abide by the constitution.
The statement of the Assembly of Combatant Clergymen in condemnation of the recent events
"The Almighty God will cut off the hands of ...these deceived fools."
The Assembly of Combatant Clergymen issued a statement in condemnation of yesterday's bloody violence against people during Aashura's commemoration. The statement reads:
Today we should cry blood that on the day of Hossein's Aashura and after all sorts of insults to Imam Khomeini's family and his legacy by the phony defenders of the revolution, there was attack on the prayer hall that has reminded the name and memory of Imam; and the peaceful ritual of commemorating Aashura was attacked by clubs, batons and chains and by insulting slogans; and blocked and broke and this way made the utmost insults to both Aashura and Imam Khomeini and then beat and bashed innocent people. It is amazing that those who with the excuse of the "crime" of tearing Imam's picture apart did and said whatever they wanted and insulted and assaulted allies of Imam and the revolution, unfortunately now attack and insult the prayer hall that more than anywhere else is the reminder of the name and greatness of Imam.Baton bearers, with the chants of "Ali...Ali...", attacked and assaulted other sermons for commemoration of Aashura in Tehran and some other cities and closed down some of them; and on the day of Aashura created some bitter events that unfortunately led to the killing and injuring some of our countrymen in Tehran and some other cities and one of those killed was the nephew of Imam's favorite prime minister, Mir Hossein Mousavi.
