TEHRAN, Feb. 08 (ISNA)-Iranian director Asghar Farhadi whose film "About Elly" has been screened at Berlinale and Fajr International Festival simultaneously, said he is satisfied with the feedbacks the film received in two different cultures.
"It was a pleasant thing for me and my team that the film was displayed at one day in two different parts of the world, we saw feedbacks from different people with different cultures," he told ISNA Sunday.
"The feedbacks are not different between Iran and Germany, they are similar and this is a very valuable point because the impacts of the film in Berlin and Iran on the audiences were similar," he added.
The most important thing that they (the audiences in Berlin) said was that the drama can happen in any part of the world and does not belong to a particular geography, he noted.
Also over his Saturday press conference after the movie was screened at Berlinale he explained that before the conference he had realized there were controversies that the film had problems being screened in Iran and that Iranian authorities have banned the film.
He had illustrated that the film has no problems in Iran and it has been screened at Fajr International Festival in Tehran simultaneously, he added.
Farhadi is in Berlin Along with actresses Golshifteh Farahani, Merila Zarei, Arana Azadifar and actor Peiman Maadi to participate 59th international Berlin Film Festival.
"About Elly" is a story about relationships, love and honor.
Ahmad who returns home from Germany after many years to spend holidays in Iran has divorced his German wife and is willing to remarry in Iran. His university classmates prepared a three-day trip to north of Iran for Ahmad and one of them Sepideh (Farhani) invites a girl named Eli (Taraneh Alidousti) to join the trip to make a match between them.
Ahmad's friends who became aware of his willingness for marriage, found the reason for Eli's invitation for the trip and start praising Eli. She suddenly disappears in the second day of trip and the group starts a search to find her.
