TEHRAN, Feb. 15 (Mehr News Agency) - Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Sunday that pursuing a "trial and error" approach in national management would prove poisonous for the country.
"The time of trial and error has ended and acting this way is a poison for the management of the society," Rafsanjani, a two-time president, explained in a dialogue with a number of students at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences in Tehran University
Rafsanjani, who currently chairs the Expediency Council and Assembly of Experts, said only under a knowledge-based management the goals set by 20-Year Outlook Plan can be realized.
Acting outside approved plans would "derail" the path toward development and a return to the "initial point" will impose "heavy costs" on national economy, he remarked.
He said the fact that Iran has succeeded to access nuclear technology and send satellites into space is a result of many years of "research" by Iranian scientists.
He also said economic prosperity would happen only in the light of establishing "competitive atmosphere".
