Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB) is pleased to announce that camper applications for Camp Ayandeh 2009 are currently available at www.iranianalliances.org/camp. Camp Ayandeh 2009 will be held from June 28th-July 5th at Duquette Academy in Massachusetts.
Camp Ayandeh is a youth leadership camp that strives to create a positive environment where young Iranian-Americans develop a sense of personal culture and feel empowered as a member of a larger community. Campers have the chance to reflect on their cultural heritage and experiences in the company of peers and role models who are facing similar questions of community and identity.
The success of this youth leadership camp has resulted in tremendous growth in camp size, nearly doubling every year. Campers from all over the United States will spend eight days meeting and socializing with Iranian-Americans of their own age group, developing lasting and cherished friendships and acquiring lifelong leadership skills through the camp curriculum. In the three years since the camp's inception, campers, counselors, and IAAB staff alike have described their experience at Camp Ayandeh as one of the highlights of their year.
