Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB) is pleased to present the Fourth International Conference on the Iranian Diaspora. This fourth installment of IAAB's bi-annual conference is hosted by UC Berkeley's Iranian Student Alliances in America (ISAA) and co-sponsored by IAAB. The conference will be held in University of California Berkeley's Pauley Ballroom in Berkeley, CA on April 4-5, 2009. Registration for the Conference is now open. Prices are set at $75 for general admission and $30 for students. Groups of more than five are eligible for a group rate. The general admission/student packages include tickets to the Conference for both days as well as a discount for the evening entertainment event on Saturday, April 4. IAAB encourages those who intend to attend to register early, as space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Fourth International Conference on the Iranian Diaspora will feature thirty speakers from around the United States and the world. Through panels and workshops, IAAB aims to address both the accomplishments within the Iranian diaspora and the issues the community is currently facing. The Conference will unite multigenerational scholars, students, and members of the community and provides a forum to discuss the current state, accomplishments, and future of the Iranian diaspora community. IAAB's Call for Papers yielded over seventy-five submitted abstracts, from which the speakers for the Conference were chosen. The schedule of speakers will be announced on the website in March.

Nakkisa Akhavan, Director of the International Conference on the Iranian Diaspora, stated, "We are very excited about the program we are planning this year. We believe that this year's conference will build upon the accomplishments of previous years, and help the community to further formulate collaboration." IAAB has previously held the International Conference in Maryland, Boston, and New York, and is very pleased to present the Conference on the West Coast this year.

Ticket prices for the Conference will increase on March 21 to $85 per person and $35 for students. Registration is now open, but subject to close if the event sells out.
