Iranian artists to create 3000-meter painting at Fajr festival

TEHRAN, Feb. 27 (Mehr News Agency) -- The first Fajr International Visual Arts Festival will hold Iran's largest open-air painting workshop on March 5. Entitled "From Museum to Museum," the workshop will be attended by one thousand Iranian painters who will be painting on a 3000-meter canvas.

The canvas will start from the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts and continue on Fatemi Ave, Keshavarz Blvd and Kargar St and then turn back to the museum.

The artists will be divided to 30 groups and they will be led by professional painters out of which three groups will be awarded at the conclusion of the festival.

Plans are to hold the workshop on the last day of the festival but in case of bad weather conditions in Tehran, it will postponed to the following Tuesday.

The festival consists of the five main sections of painting, sculpture, poster, photography and cartoon, and three subsidiary sections of exhibitions, workshops and conferences.

The Iranian Artists Forum, the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, the Niavaran Cultural Center and the Azadi Cultural Complex is playing host to the festival that is running from January 31 to March 2.
