TEHRAN, Feb. 28 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran's Research and Production Center for Animated
Motion Pictures (RPCA Pictures) will publish the first volume of "The Comic
Strips of Classical Persian Stories" collection in near future.
The first volume of the collection in which some anecdotes of Sadi's Bustan (The
Orchard) and Gulistan are depicted will not be released until the next edition
of the Tehran International Book Fair in early May 2009, cartoonist Bozorgmehr
Hosseinpur told MNA.

Further volumes of the collection will cover Obeyd Zakani and also Ferdowsi's
Shahnameh with the latter possibly more than one volume, he added.
Due to large number of anecdotes, some of them are selected by authors of the
book, he mentioned.
"A team of Iranian cartoonists has been formed for the collection. Although we
are inspired by ancient Iranian paintings in drawing the comic strips, they are
done in a foreign style," mentioned Hosseinzadeh who is a member of the team.
RPCA Pictures of the Art Bureau is affiliated with the Islamic Ideology
Dissemination Organization.
