"How many does it
take to metamorphose wickedness into righteousness? One man must not kill. If he
does, it is murder.... But a state or nation may kill as many as they please,
and it is not murder. It is just, necessary, commendable, and right. Only get
people enough to agree to it, and the butchery of myriads of human beings is
perfectly innocent. But how many does it take?" - Adin Ballou, The
Non-Resistant, 5 February 1845
The Toronto Star reported that Gaza's community
mental health centre has been destroyed by Israeli bombing. The last sentence
reads, "The people in Gaza are like experimental animals. Put them in a cage.
Expose them to electrical shocks from all sides. Then they will stay in the
middle of the cage, helpless and doing nothing."

The Israelis, with the most
advanced medicine and psychological research people in the world surely know
this.
We used to do things with rats
in Psych. Basically, limit them to an inescapable environment, deprive them of
all options, and expose them to chaos and they panic, run in circles, scream and
shout, and suddenly become immobilized, paralyzed with fear and incapable of
action or any attempt to escape or survive.
But, I have seen cats, great
farm mousers who, when dropped into the midst of mice under the same conditions,
have merely stood there dumbfounded, incapable of action, knowing not what to
do with or about those mice. Then, they vault out of the tub and run off
ignoring all of those vulnerable and delicious mousey tid-bits!
But, Israelis are not as
civilized as cats! They are predators on the helpless, and once they have
reduced a victim to panic, helplessness and paralysis, they pounce and destroy
without mercy!
The Nazis taught them well!
It has always been the measure of the successful guru that the acolyte
eventually outdoes and exceeds him. The Nazis have won. They have sewn the
seeds which have destroyed a nation of people.
There comes a point in the
killing game where after killing so many, or seeing so much death, some men
simply stop caring how many, how or why they kill... they simply stop feeling.
They are the first and worst damaged; many do not recover from it, and you read
about them in the papers years later. I suspect that a great many Israelis and
Israeli politicians have long gone past that point.
Will Arabs become the next
Nazis?
How many will it take? Are
there that many Palestinians?
Ap reports:
Israeli
airstrike kills a top Hamas leader (AP)
An Israeli warplane dropped
a 2,000-pound bomb
on the home of one of Hamas' top five
decision-makers Thursday, instantly killing him and 18 others, while the
Israeli army said troops massed on the
Gaza border were ready for any order to invade.
Yes, Nizar no doubt personally
participated in, and sent his sons on, missions to protect his country and
people from invaders and attackers. That is a lot more than George Bush, Tony
Blair and Ehud Olmert has ever done.
But, isn't a 2000 pound bomb to
kill one man a bit of overkill?
And, can the US really afford
quarter million dollar "smart" bombs just to take out single "combatants."
however real or threatening they may be?
And, not gainsaying
the unreasonable cost in dollars to kill "enemies," is the political and public
relations cost in collateral damage really worth it? Even the most vicious of
street mobs and organized gangsters in the US hesitate to go after their
"enemies" families.
But, the State of Israel has
been engaged in such indiscriminate killings of civilians with full support of
the US and in full view of the eyes of the world, over and over. People of the
world must understand that Israel is using its fifth column, the Jewish Lobby,
in the United States to wage Zionist wars in the region, to construct a new
neighborhood, to serve the apartheid state of Israel.
Shame on our collective
conscience, that we let Israel get away with murder again and again and again.
This has nothing to do with Hamas, it is all a charade. This has everything to
do with Israel's hegemonic designs in the region.
Besides, I thought that Hamas
was a legitimately elected government through a closely US monitored democratic
process, and that targeted political assassinations were a war crime.
Could it be that Israel has
crossed the line and accidentally committed an illegal or criminal act? Heaven
forbid!
Arundhati Roy is right: "It
isn't surprising that those who have grown plump on the pickings of democracy
(such as it is) should now be calling for a police state. The era of "pickings"
is long gone. We're now in the era of Grabbing by Force, and democracy has a
terrible habit of getting in the way."
