Mehr News Agency, Tehran -- A group of painters gathered at the open space of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art on Saturday and Sunday for a workshop in support of the oppressed people of Gaza.
The open space located between the museum and Laleh Park played host to artists who created their works to protest against the recent Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
A large area was covered with a big banner on which two artists were painting their works and other artists were scattered in different spots working on their canvases.
All the materials were provided by the Visual Arts Office and the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art to the artists.
"We artists, the most sensitive stratum of society, intend to show our support for those people effected by this tragedy and tell them that we live in a society which sympathizes deeply with their plight," the secretary of the workshop Saeid Fallahfar told the Persian service of ISNA.
"Artists are not separate from society, to sit and work in their own isolation. We try to keep in direct contact with people," he added.
He continued saying that the works selected on these two days would be archived as a historical document and would either go on display in a great expo or would be put on sale for the benefit of the people of Gaza.
