SAMA reported that the measure is part of a general plan to organize relief work along Tehran mountains which has been passed by Tehran Islamic City Council. According to the plan, first 150 professional mountain climbers took part in a theoretical and practical safety program on principles of safe mountain climbing starting on December 13, 2008. At the end of the program on Friday, January 2, 2009, they will be positioned in north Tehran mountains every weekend up to April 20, 2009 to warn citizens of hazards of mountain climbing in cold season, thus preventing problems and accidents caused by amateur mountain climbers.
