UN, New York, Jan 16, IRNA -- Iran has called on the UN to take immediate and serious action to halt attacks on Gaza and end Israel's atrocities in the coming days.
"Israel is violating the most basic rights of Palestinians while the UN Security Council's resolution has been ineffective in putting an end to Israel's crimes," Iran's permanent representative in the United Nations, Mohammad Khazaee, said in a meeting with head of UN General Assembly in New York.
He noted that although the UN Security Council has failed to stop the Gaza killings, it has helped the international community to find out about Israel's atrocities in Gaza.
Khazaee condemned Israel's measures in preventing Iran's cargo ship packed with medicine and humanitarian aid for Gazans to berth at Gaza port.
He submitted Iran's five proposals for putting an immediate end to the ongoing Gaza crisis.
Iran's proposals include the immediate halt to Israel's attacks on defenseless people of Palestine in Gaza and Israel's immediate withdrawal from Gaza.
The other three measures include removing the siege of Gaza siege and reopening of border crossings.
