Iran complains over inactive presence of OPCW

TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (ISNA)-Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki complained over inactive presence of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on the international scene while Israelis commit such inhuman measures against Palestinians.

While the brutal incursions against Gaza Strip still goes on, it is so warning that Israel's military without fear of punishment employs the prohibited weapons including poisonous chemical munitions and phosphorous bombs against civilians, Mottaki said in his letter to Rogelio Pfirter.

Referring to the 1925 protocol of Geneva, he added the use of such munitions indicates Israel is negligent towards international regulations and breaches the terms of the convention.
It is terrifying that such massive use of chemical materials by the Zionist regime happens in front of everybody's eyes and despite existence of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons that has been created to prevent use of these weapons completely, he noted.

Thus the international community expects the OPCW as the only competent organization to fulfill its duties by gathering intelligence of the usage of these weapons and sending aids to the victims, he added.
