TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (Mehr News Agency) - The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had been seeking civil disobedience inside Iran under the cover of scientific and cultural activities which was "nipped in the bud", the anti-espionage director at the Intelligence Ministry announced here on Monday.
He said this project was followed through the "theory of soft revolution" and unfortunately some Iranian nationals, especially cultural and scientific experts, were deceived through such activities.
The soft revolution was followed through provoking ethnic divisions, holding non-violent demonstrations, civil disobedience, etc, the official added.
Four of these persons were put on trial and some of them were forgiven, he explained.
These four persons were involved in such activities with full knowledge and admitted their fault, he noted.
