TEHRAN, Jan. 20 (Mehr News Agency) - The third Global Financial Crisis: Challenges and Opportunities for Iran and the Region conference will be held in Kish on January 23.
The causes of the global financial crisis and its impact on financial and credit resources, privatization as well as banking, insurance and capital markets in the Persian Gulf littoral states will be discussed in two specialized sessions, IRNA reported.
Iranian high ranking economic officials including the finance minister, Central Bank governor, foreign minister, vice president, Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization director, Central Insurance of Iran general director, etc. will attend the conference.
Iran's ambassadors in the Persian Gulf littoral states and some of their Iranian residents engaged in economic activities as well as Iran's Central Chamber Of Cooperatives general secretary and Iran's Chamber Of Commerce, Industries, And Mines chairman representing the private sector will participate in the event.
The confab is co-organized by Iran's Finance Ministry, the Kish Free Zone Organization, and the supreme council for the Iranian residents in foreign countries.
The second global financial crisis conference was held in Tehran on Sunday. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, oil, industries, and commerce ministers, and representatives of the Islamic Development Bank attended the event.
The collapse of the U.S. housing market and the resulting global crisis has left the world's economies mired in a recession since December 2007.
