Market condition changes gas price formula in Iran-Pakistan agreement: Official

TEHRAN, Jan. 26 (ISNA)-The current market condition has changed the price formula and some articles of Iran-Pakistan gas agreement, said Iranian representative in Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) Peace Pipeline talks Hojatollah Ghanimifard.

Japan's Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) price, a criterion for price formula, is the only one that has been burgeoning over last months, he noted.

During talks in Tehran in late December where Iran's Oil Minister and Pakistani representatives took part, Iran made clear its view and is waiting for Pakistan's response which is to be declared by a couple of days, he continued.

Also regarding Pakistan's possible opposition to Iran's views, he said it is expected that Pakistan has accepted the changes discussed in Tehran's meeting, although Pakistani officials needed an opportunity to discuss the offers with high-ranking officials.

He has already denied Iran's discount for gas export to Pakistan and said after the recent session in Tehran there was no serious bilateral discussion for the gas export deal.
