The commemoration of the
30th Anniversary of Islamic Revolution, which is scheduled to be held in Iran
this February, will witness the active participation of many eminent foreign
news agencies, confirms Ivan Sahar, a well-known foreign media service centre of
the Islamic Republic of Iran. The main events of this 10-day long grand
celebration, which is observed in the commemoration of Ayatollah Ruhollah
Khomeini's return after 15 years of exile, have been scheduled to take place
from 31st January to 10th February.
The celebrations will be flagged off at the exact time that the Ayatollah landed
in Iran after overthrowing Mohammad Reza Shah and his Pahlavi regime. A
helicopter will shower flowers on the tomb of the Ayatollah. Beginning on Jan
31st, all the events will take place over 10 days and will finally get over on
the 10th of Feb, 2009. Many events have been organized in honor of the Islamic
Revolution. Different groups of people of the Islamic Republic of Iran will take
part in various events demonstrating the Islamic Revolution and its success.
Tehran Municipality's Cultural and Social Department, Tehran Municipality
Cultural and Arts Organization, Urban Services Department and Teheran
Beautification Organization have conjured up shows depicting the Islamic
Revolution. Sporting events, films, music and theater festivals based on this
theme form a major part of the 30th anniversary of Islamic Revolution. The
historical memory of the city revolving around the Islamic Revolution will find
expression in the events. The celebrations are expected to close with a mass
rally and military parade commemorating the fall of the Pahlavi regime.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has made all arrangements to celebrate the event in
style. One of the events involves the opening of a museum which incorporates all
the happenings of the Islamic Revolution. These activities will be depicted by
light, sound and images in an interesting way. Another event has been organized
by 1000 Iranian artists who have planned a huge painting workshop on the
contemporary history. A 3000 m painting will be created by the artists involving
30 groups of 33 people each. A third event is to be staged by the 27th
International Fajr Film Festival. It will be highlighting its sand Simorgh,
showing 30 birds flying high up in the sky. It has been designed to stress on
the emphatic victory of the Islamic Revolution and mark the 30th anniversary of
Islamic Revolution.
The House of Cinema will be releasing a pact containing 30 documentaries, 30
short films and 30 film music soundtracks on the occasion of the 30th
anniversary of Islamic Revolution. A number of unpublished photos of Mahmud
Kalari, which show the Islamic Revolution, are also included in this pact. The
Islamic Republic of Iran is leaving no stones unturned in making the event a
grand success.
