|
Tehran, Jan 28, IRNA -- Head of the Nanotechnology Association Dr. Mojtaba
Shariati Niasar said in Tehran Wednesday that Iran managed to improve its global
standing in nanotechnology to 25th while maintaining the top rank among Muslim
countries thanks to efforts of its scientists.

Niasar told IRNA that the country stood 60th on
the global list and sixth among Muslim countries for nanotechnology development
in 2000.
He said that Iran's research in the field during the post-Islamic Revolution era
cannot be compared with that before the Islamic Revolution.
He added that Iranian scientists published more than 1,100 ISI articles in nano
field over the past seven years and more than 10 universities of the country are
now involved in the nano-related sciences and technology.
The top nano researcher said by mid-September, about 2,250 MA and Ph.D. theses
were compiled and hundreds of scientific and specialized meetings were held on
the issue.
He added that dozens of websites have been set up and more than 400 research
