TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (Mehr News Agency) -- Gerardo Yassel Cabrera (Moreno) was chosen as Iran's baseball coach on Saturday.

Iran is preparing for the Asian Baseball Championships which will be held in March in Manila, the Philippines.

The American is the first foreign coach for Iran's baseball team.

Gerardo Cabrera, who has yet to sign a deal with the Iranian officials, will travel to Tehran within the next two weeks to finalize his contract.
