Protest against Nokia in Los Angeles: Stop supporting censorship in Iran!

On July 15th while the ESPN Awards (ESPY) will be held at the NOKIA Plaza, we will gather in protest of Nokia's invasive technology aid to the Iranian government that led to the violence and brutality that was committed against the innocent people.

WHEN: Wednesday, July 15th 2009, at 6:00 PM
(NOTE: the ESPN red carpet event is expected to start at 4:00 PM, hence it is preferred to gather starting at 4:00 PM)

WHERE: Corner of West 11th Street and South Figueroa Street (Across the Street from ESPN Zone)

European telecommunications companies Siemens and Nokia are responsible for creating the technology behind Iran's sophisticated internet censorship.

We are asking these companies to:

  1. Stop providing technical support for the inspection devices/services in Iran immediately.
  2. Disclose the exact specifications of the tapping/inspection technology.
